New Delhi , Mar 27, 2012(PTI): Seeking adequate budgetary support and filling up vacant posts in railways, its employees will
march to Parliament tomorrow to press
their various demands.
“We want government should provide adequate budgetary support to railways because the national transporter is facing a financial crisis and passing through a very critical stage,” said All-India Railwaymen’s Federation (AIRF) general secretary Shiv Gopal Mishra.
Besides, AIRF also wants that therecruitment drive in railways be
speeded up to fill about 2.5 lakh vacant posts.
“We have a slew of long pending demands which include removal of anomalies of the Sixth Central Pay Commission, relaxation in duty hours, scrapping of New Pension Scheme,implementation of various welfare
schemes announced by the earlier Minister for Railways, stopping of
outsourcing and privatisation and
recruitment of the wards of the Railway employees,” Mishra said.
