THE UNIONCABIENT TODAY APPROVEDTHE ENHANCE OF CELLING FOR CALCULATION OF EX-GRATIA BONUS PAYABLE TO GDS FROM Rs 2500/- TO 3500/- THE DECISION WOULD BE APPLICABLE WITH PROSPECTIVE EFFECT i.e.FROM THE ACCOUNTIG YEAR 2012-2013 PAYABLE IN 2013-2014.
1)The finance ministry,saying the postal department does not have the expertise to run a bank, including handling credit and other banking functions. It feels the business proposal is unlikely to be viable.
But the postal department does not agree with this view, saying it has several years’ experience in deposit mobilization and that Post Bank of India will be run by professional management using its strong network. The postal department has close to 155,000 offices spread across the nation, as many as 139,040 of which are in rural areas.

Release of additional instalment of Dearness Allowance to central government employees and Dearness Relief to pensioners, due from 1.7.2013
The Union Cabinet yesterday gave its approval to release an additional instalment of Dearness Allowance (DA) to central government employees and Dearness Relief (DR) to pensioners with effect from 01.07.2013 at the rate of 10 percent over the existing rate of 80 percent.
1)Shortly DA would cross 100 percent. Once again, all allowances would enhance by 25%
2) Ban on creation of posts, purchase of vehicles, cut in air travel, no change in LTC Air-travel entitlement etc. under economy measures
