CAT Case on IP Grade pay -Update
OA No.289/13 has been admitted by the Hon'ble CAT Ernakulam Bench. Four weeks time has been given to the respondents for filing their reply and two weeks for our rejoinder, if any. The case stands posted for 10.06.2013.
Postal department launches service to transfer money via cellphone
ALLAHABAD: Sending and receiving a money order will be easier now than ever as India Post introduces money order facility through mobile phones. Under the Mobile Money Transfer Service (MMTS) minimum amount of Rs. 1,000 and maximum of Rs. 10,000 can be sent in a single transaction, whereas there is no limit to the maximum number of transactions made in a day.

It was informed by General Secretary of IP/ASP Association that as per the information received from Directorate, DPC for promotion to the cadre of JTS Group A is finalized Today(04.04.2013).
Case for Grade pay upgradation for Inspector Posts filed at CAT Ernakulam Bench
OA No. 289/13 for Grade pay upgradation for Inspector Posts has been filed at CAT Ernakulam Bench. The case is listed for 05.04.2013(tomorrow) at Sl. No.1. in the Division Bench consisting of Hon'ble Dr. K.B.S Rajan (Judicial Member) and Hon'ble Ms. K.Noorjehan (administrative member). In this OA, Sri Vilas Ingale, GS AIAIP & ASP, Sri Niranjan Kumar, ASP BD (Adhoc), RO Calicut and Sri K.Permanand, IP Postal Directorate are the applicants.
Anomaly in quota fixed for Sr. PM & PS Group B Examination
The Department has issued detailed orders vide 4-17/2008-SPB.II dated 2211/2010 creating a separate Postmaster Cadre in Postal Wing. According to this Senior Postmaster in Gazetted cadre was carved out of PS Gr.B/Postmaster Gr. B service, and no. of Posts identified were 116. Consequently, the department also framed Recruitment Rules for Senior Postmaster Class II vide 137-03/2009-SPB.II dated 9/9/2010.
The anomaly in the posts given to General Line officials for Sr.PM was challenged by IP/ASP Association. It is learnt from Directorate that there is a proposal under consideration for revision of Recruitment Rules framed on 11/3/1988 and amended in 1994 vide 9-36/92-SPG dated 29/6/1994 in respect of the Postal Superintendent Service Gr. B. The proposal is said to be under examination in consultation with UPSC to provide for filling up of 97% of vacancies of PS Gr. B from IP line officials, and 3% by promotion of HSG-I officials from General line through Limited Departmental Competitive Examination.
