Codes for new categories of clientele of PLI
Some new categories of clientele under PLI have been added in Rule 6 of Post Office Life Insurance Rules-2011 vide Notification of even No. dated 18.10.2012 published in the Gazette of India No. 240 dated 18.10.2012 circulated vide this office letter of even No. dated 29.10.2012.
2. Rule 16 of Manual for Circle Offices provides for suffixing letter(s) to the PLI policy number as per the organization to which the insured is belonging. As such, following codes may be assigned (sufficed) to policy numbers of PLI issued to the insured belonging to new categories added vide Notification ibid:

Subject: Provisions relating to proforma promotion.

Undersigned is directed to refer to this Department's OM No. 6/8/2009-Estt (Pay-II) dated the 17th June, 2010 regarding consolidated instructions on deputations. References are being received from Ministries/Departments seeking clarifications/relaxations in respect of provisions which pertain to proforma promotion in these orders or otherwise. The issues have been considered in consultation with the Department of Expenditure, and it has been decided to provide as under:
(i) Proforma promotion in the case of candidates promoted on passing a Limited Departmental Examination.
The candidates passing the Limited Departmental Examination may be
allowed proforma promotion as under:
MACP Upgradation to Promotees - Department filed Appeal against the orders of CAT Jodhpur
Hon’ble CAT Jodhpur in its judgment dated 22.05.2012 in OA No. 382/2011, 353/2011 and 354/2011 has held that whenever an official appears in LDCE and gets selected to the post, then it starts new innings for him and for the purpose of counting his stagnation, if any, from the date of joining of the new post alone would be relevant and his previous career advancement cannot be called as promotion within the definition of the word “promotion” for consideration of his eligibility under MACP scheme.
Department of Posts has now filed appeal petition before the Hon’ble High court of Jodhpur against the orders of Hon’ble CAT Jodhpur.

CPMG Karnataka is holding additional charge of CPMG Maharashtra
Shri A. K. Sharma, Chief Postmaster General, Maharashtra Circle, Mumbai retired from Govt. Service on superannuation on 30/11/2012. Ms Hilda Abraham, Chief PMG, Karnataka Circle, Bangalore was asked by Directorate to hold the additional charge of Chief PMG, Maharashtra Circle, Mumbai till further orders.
